I'll sing until my heart caves in...

If it doesn’t break your heart, it isn’t love.
Switchfoot, Yet (2009)

Earl Commented: If it just makes you angry, it isn’t love. If you love, it is unconditional. You make the most painful of choices, because you know they are the right ones.

Kung mahal mo talaga, malulungkot ka ng sobra, pero hindi ka magagalit. Kung magagalit ka, it's just infatuation. Mahirap nga yung mature eh. Laging nasasaktan. Yung mga immature kasi, sa totoo lang simple ang buhay [nila].

If it doesn't break your heart, it's not enough. It's when you're breaking down with your insides coming out… That's when you find out what your heart is made of.

…And you haven’t lost me yet.

*insert a summer-themed song here*

If and when I get a taste of vacation, here’s what I would do:

I will dance again. I will practice more on pantomime and street dance as well as learn new genres. I will learn some “stunts” (enclosed in quotation marks, because, probably, the list would include “simple” stuff like the baby freeze *rawr!*, cartwheels, and the back roll).

--I will clean my room and my desk. They have been cluttered for the longest time.

--I will spend quality time with my cousins, my brother, and my lola, which I haven’t done for a long time too.

--I will indulge myself in movies that are not, in any way, academically related.

--I will practice more photography. Sir Chong Ardivilla’s Audio Visual Communication class had introduced me to the rule of photography that is all I need to know: the rule of thirds.

--I will try not to consume a lot of junk foods. I will go on a break from energy drinks. I seriously want to be in a better shape in time for my graduation photo. (YES! ALREADY!)

--I promise I will regularly have my morning devotions, which had been on a rough schedule on the last stretch of this semester.

--I will reflect on myself and develop my character. (This is cheesy, but it is true.)

--I promise I will exercise my right to vote on May 10.

--I promise I will use that right wisely, by electing a righteous and God-fearing leader.

--I promise that when I come back to the University on June, I will be a better person who was taught to be independent (by the internship), and have learned a lot during the vacation.

Yes, I have already planned what I would do with my vacation, but I haven’t got it yet. As I write this, I am also trying to figure out how to even start with my manuscript due on Friday. Woo! The next time that I’ll be writing on this blog, I am a free citizen already.

Put Your Records On

I suddenly remembered one Power Saturday that we shared about “Life’s Soundtracks” (Which was summer last year, before the talent fest.) If I am not mistaken, it was Dave and Kuya Paul who shared the thoughts above (rephrased, because I cannot remember the exact words).

I have to leave a good soundtrack for the people to remember me by.

Would this be valid?

Ate, sabi ni Noynoy Aquino: Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap. Sabi naman ng kampo ni Villar: Si Villar ang tunay na mahirap. E di Kung walang corrupt, walang Manny Villar? Tas kung icacancel yung double negation e Kung may corrupt, may Manny Villar?

Yes, I am waiting.

I hope he would be just like you.

Mood Lifter

This song lifted my mood just a little bit yesterday. I was so pissed off with traffic and the train until I heard this song on the radio. I was impressed because this is a different version from what I know. I miss Brian McFadden and I miss the Five-Piece Westlife even more. If they’ll ever have a concert here in the Philippines, I’d gladly put everything I own on a pawnshop just to buy a ticket. Seriously.

I look forward to the day that someone will sing me this song and actually mean it.

KAPOW!

It’s quite amazing how Comic Books let me hear the sound of chaos and collapsing supervillain bodiesonly by reading.

Apple, Orange, Ensaymada... What's This? Plastic Cups Editon

Yayie wanted to try solving the Apple, Orange, Ensaymada Logic Game. We gave her a chance, this time using plastic cups. In the end, everyone else got it except for Yayie. I laughed while watching this again when I heard Eric’s remarks on the background. Enjoy.

And then after Eric got it, he tried it too try to answer his question. Hahaha.

the feelings go again...

I am going to heaven, and you are the one who will take me there.

Comic book Junkie

”And maybe it's an amazing world, full of monsters and Human Torches and all kinds of bizarre stuff... but right here and right now, in this little corner of it... everything's okay." --Peter Parker, Amazing Fantasy #16

This is one of the reasons why I love Spider-Man. He’s witty, He talks a lot, and He’s quotable. And as I looked around at the Toy Convention at Robinson’s Place last Saturday, I saw Comic Odyssey’s booth offering a truckload of comic books. Spider-sense tingled, and I started searching through those boxes for my masked hero.

I’m so happy that it didn’t fail me. I ended up purchasing Amazing Fantasy #16 and #17, two of the three issues that fill in the gap between the Amazing Fantasy Series and The Amazing Spider-Man #1. And lucky me, I got them for only 20 bucks each!

Mi Pelu (my best college friend) and I went back to Comic Odyssey yesterday for some cheap finds. I got Spider-Man’s Tangled Web: Behind the Mustache (mainly an issue about his grumpy boss, Jonah Jameson), Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives, Marvel Knights: Spider-Man and Wolverine, and X-Force: Sabotage X-over part 2, guest-starring: Spider-Man. We availed of their 5+1 promo (I should only get two comic book issues but she insisted that I get them all, for fear that we may never see them again) then added Ren and Stimpy’s Choose your own Adventure Special, and The Last Son of Krypton is Back!, the Superman in Action Comics issue that tells about his death and resurrection. I am indeed a happy fan. I’m smiling so wide, it’s a wonder my mask doesn’t split (again, that quote was by my favorite hero in the same issue as the one above.)

Spider-Man is my escape from all my life’s toxicities. Maybe, because I also wish to be like him (not to be saved by him, mind you) that can talk and web-throw his way through anything. Maybe because I also wish I can throw strings of web from my pulse so that I would never have to commute ever again.

Apple, Orange, Ensaymada. Ano ito? :)
